Katie Arnold
Acoustic / Pop / Folk
Hailing from the outskirts of D.C., singer/songwriter
Katie Arnold has been writing music for the last 20
years. She started out on piano as a child, picked up
a guitar in college, and didn't discover the unleashed
power of her voice until her early twenties. With
influences ranging from Emmylou Harris to The
Cranberries, this up and coming artist is carving out
a niche for herself in the indie-acoustic music scene
of New York City. Katie’s passion-filled songs have a
fearless, yet graceful way of forcing people to stop
and recognize that a life untested is a life unlived.
“Her skilled vocals and song writing ability mark
Katie Arnold as a gifted talent.” -- Dave Kellogg,
syndicated radio personality

Taylor
Giacoma
Singer-songwriter-pianist Taylor Giacoma has a unique
sound which has been called both folky pop and poppy folk -
and is probably neither. It was most recently described as
'what would happen if you crossed Joni Mitchell and Kurt
Weill'. Her niche lies in a modern, accessible, popular
sound wrapped in a narrative style molded by years of
classical training and a love of cultivated music. She is
playing regularly at numerous New York City venues and is
very excited to be back at Caffe Vivaldi. Her recently
recorded debut album, Transatlantic Lammy, was released in
October 2007 and is now available everywhere.

Z.R.A
Singer/Songwriter/Rock
"While it's not shocking that the son of a recording
engineer became a musician, what does come as a surprise are
the densely layered, complex melodies heard on Z.R.A.'s new
EP "Blind Sighted." As you listen to each song, it's hard to
believe that not only have they been composed and recorded
by the same musician, but that Zach Arrias is responsible
for all of the instrumentation as well. From the confidently
catchy "Chronicle of Ease", the melancholic, indifferent "So
I Care," to the dark, gritty "More than Eleven," it's not
hard to see why he has been nominated LOS ANGELES MUSIC
AWARDS SINGER/SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR! It takes most
musicians' decades to produce the quality of music Z.R.A. is
creating at the age of 25. The songwriter writes, 'I know
where my sight is' from what I can tell it must be on world
domination!" - Indie In-Tune Magazine |

Kagero
Japanese Gypsy Rock Band
"Echoes of bossanova, Radiohead, Elvis Costello, everything
sounds like this band should be performing in a Paris café
to a room full of expatriates. -Ben
Kreiger, Jezebel Music
Kagero's gypsy-flavored acoustic rock is knocking New York's
indie scene on its tushy. The sound has been described as a
melting pot of tonalities and rhythms from Asia, the Middle
East and Eastern Europe. Kagero pulls their core rock sound
from David Bowie and Neil Young, and adds the gypsy flavor
of the violin found in the works of Stephane Grappelli. With
a high-energy show that entices even the most jaded hipster
into busting a gleefully bohemian move, Kagero's world music
goulash is very tasty – even if you don't always know what's
you're eating. Just call them your local neighborhood urban-gypsophonic,
border-jumping, international debtor's prison groove-loving
feelgood band next door. |

"If you're
still wondering what Billie Joe and his paramour threw off
the Tallahatchie Bridge, here's an unexplored theory: It was
the unborn blueprint for the music of Jennifer Niceley, a
Knoxville-raised, East Nashville-based singer and songwriter
with a flair for Southern gothic drama and a torch to bear
for all the hearts her after-after-hours croon sends down
river. With her new full-length debut Luminous, she rewrites
Bobby Blue Bland's "Blind Man" as "Blind Woman," letting a
luxuriant string section wash away the blues, and redefines
sultry soul the way Neko Case redefines moody alt-country or
Billie Holiday redefines jazz balladry. Guided by the
shadowy slide and distended riffs of guitarist Joe McMahan,
Niceley evokes midnight confessions, turbulent romance and a
dark, flowing, mysterious lyricism."

into folk, given her propensity for ballad-like narratives

her voice locates the energy somewhere in between Broadway
